You can trust my review, bad or good is your choice and i hope you can try to buy this product and then you know this product good or no. Next time you can make a review for another people.

I will start this with the straight truth! I bought this piston off of ebay (yes this exact piston) and it did not work. i tried everything even taking it to Home Depot and getting an even tighter o ring because i thought the seal was the problem. But, to no avail, it did not help. I used everything under the sun to try to get this thing to work. I used the charcloth that it came with and IT DID NOTHING... I then tried small amounts of cotton (same result = NOTHING), next i tried some thin paper (same result = NOTHING).

If you question the veracity of any of my comments, leave a comment and i will provide you with my ebay account. i bought this and tried it for hours and hours and even got a new tighter o-ring and it does not work. I can use fire steel, and anything else, but this thing is just insane. I can't say that i was happy about the purchase, but that was up and until they told me to send it back and they would fix or replace or refund my purchase no questions asked!!

I left this post before contacting them and they said that i should have just returned it. I want everyone to know that THEY ARE A VERY NICE company. They kept in contact with me throughout the entire process. Apparently when they recieved my piston they had to replace the plastic insert that came with my earlier model with the alluminum one that comes with all the new and improved models. Second, they said that my charcloth was over processed and that was the problem. They sent me new charcloth for FREE = THEY COVERED SHIPPING THERE AND BACK!! **** (5 stars) and they also added additional tinder fungus.

Now, after getting it back i tried it right away. Okay, it works with the tinder fungus very well, but the charcloth is a little more troublesome. It does work now and i am happy with it. But, it is important to know that this thing will only work with tinder fungus and charcloth. You cannot just put cotton or other flammable material in it and hope it will work.

In summation, this will work if you push very hard and very fast; first i place it on a hard object: 1.) tree, 2.) table, or 3.) your leg to get this thing to work. Second, you push very hard and quickly (actually i punch it down). Then it will light. At least this is how my piston works. But, THE PSITON DOES WORK! Just remember to bring some tinder fungus or charcloth with you into the bush.

All in all for the price and the practicality of use = an actual 3.5 stars!
